Solar Energy Kids Facts

One of the best roles you can assume today in creating a better world for tomorrow is that of a “Solar Power Myth Buster.” I can see it now, you masked crusader you. Before you grab your cape and head out the door, though, let’s arm you with a few facts about solar power myths:

· Solar power is too expensive. Before you allow anyone to cling tenaciously to that belief, ask them if you can schedule an appointment for a solar power installation appraisal for them. Tell them you would never try to dissuade them from believing what they choose, but if they’re willing to allow an open discussion, you’d like them to be assured that their belief is right before they share it with others…or worse yet…possibly keep them from having clean, free power because they attached too strongly to an old, rigid belief system. Tell them the appraiser will help them assess:

o What is the cost of a traditional heating, air conditioning system and hot water heater -today compared to a solar installation?

o What is the current cost per watt for electricity in their area, or comparative cost per unit for other fossil fuel used?

o Since 1970, coal, gas and oil utility costs have gone up, on average, 5.5 percent per year. At that rate, what will their per unit cost be in 5 years, 10 years, 15 and 20 years? On a solar off-the-grid system…it will be…free.

o What’s their current home power equipment guarantee? Solar components are guaranteed to last between 25 to 30 years. Most of today’s standard furnace, air conditioning systems…and hot water heaters…are guaranteed to last for 10 years.

o What tax credits, incentives and rebates are available for standard installation of fossil-fuel burning systems versus the tax credits, incentives and rebates for solar installation?

· I’ll still have to have a traditional system, anyway, because solar systems only work where there’s a lot of sunshine. OK, there’s a possibility you’ll need a back-up system. But…it’s not a big possibility. Japan and Germany have less sunlight than a majority of the United States but have a much larger reliance of solar energy. If you live along the northern tier of the United States you may need more panels to produce the same amount of electricity as your Southwest counterparts, but you can still power your home or business with solar energy.

With the advances in solar technology that have been made, nearly all systems can function with back-up battery power that’s been created by your solar energy system. In some areas, or if you’re just not certain you’re comfortable with no back-up, there are options that can be a part of your solar system design that provide you with back-up…like a wood insert in a passive-solar stone fireplace design…or better yet…a wind turbine, also a renewable energy.

· I’ll have to reduce my energy consumption. Let’s admit it…this is not a bad idea. We all could manage just as well with a little less…energy consumption that is. There are a few things you could do right now that could start you on the right path…turn off lights that aren’t being used, turn off your computer when it’s not being used, and switch to CFL light bulbs…to name a few. However, if you really want to keep on…keepin’ on…using the same amount of electricity you already are…you can.

It will, however, cost you more up front. Let’s face it…it takes a bigger system to produce more watts of power…more batteries…more inverters. So your initial costs if you install today will be a little more. But once the system’s paid for…whether you’ve got a large system, or a small one…as long as that sun keeps on shining, your utility bill is…have I said this before?…still zero. As it your carbon footprint. Amazing, isn’t it?

· The solar panels on my roof will destroy the aesthetics and reduce my home value. First, let’s talk for a minute about the different systems. Yes, solar hot water systems that sit on a roof can be unappealing for a certain percentage of the population. However, solar electric panels typically use much less space and are much more attractive…in fact there are now solar panels shaped like roof tiles making them nearly unnoticeable. And…forget about reducing your home value. Solar electricity raises the value of your home. You can sell your home faster…and for more money.

· Solar power is popular now…only because of the government incentives, and will die out with those incentives. Au contraire. Solar power is here to stay. While it has, indeed, had a long, laborious battle to come into the limelight…or should I say sunlight…there is no question it’s time is right. With global warming as an energy-change warning, world citizens are taking up their swords to fight for what’s right…bright…and clean. So now that you have the facts, my Solar Myth Buster, go forth and do great things!

Environmental Issues New Jersey
What must I do before I can legally operate an online business in New Jersey?

I already have a website for my environmental activism group, and want to sell environmentally friendly products on that site in order to raise money for the website and our groups activities. My girlfriend and I will be forming a partnership, but will have no employees (besides ourselves obviously). Must I register as a business? What are the tax issues involved? Since we will have no brick and mortar store, and therefore no physicall selling location, is it legal/possible for me to register my business in a state (like Nevada or Wyoming) that doesn’t have sales tax? Are there any other forms/legal issues I need to be aware of? Do I need an EIN, or a federal identification number? I have looked everywhere and there seems to be a lack of information and/or clarity of information regarding starting your own small e-commerce business. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Environmental Issues Lessons

The concept of the Earth Day celebration started in 1963 when a political gentleman and an environmental advocate thought of spreading environmental awareness nationally through political manifestations. This idea was supported by the President during that time, and the realization of this idea started out with a national conservation tour that was headed by the President. It wasn’t long after that the idea was actually passed out as an official national celebration, thus known as the Earth Day. The main objective of this celebration is for environmental awareness and preservation. There are basically a lot of people who participated in the annual celebration.

This fact only shows that more and more people are being made aware and have made a personal decision to take part in conserving what is left of mother Earth. Each one has to have a certain degree of responsibility in this battle against world degradation. It must also be noted that there is just this one world that we have. If we would therefore want to preserve ourselves, then we should preserve the world first.

A lot of activities and programs have been designed to incorporate environmental awareness in each individual. One of these programs includes Earth Day elementary lessons which are very helpful for young children and teachers as well. According to one of the famous verses in the bible, one should “train up a child on where they would go, so that when they grow old, they would not depart from It.” which means that awareness should start as early as the early years of a child. This rationale has brought about various forms of lessons or teachings that can be given to the children.

One of the most popular forms is that of illustrated books. It has been observed that small children would be interested in learning better with illustrated books than in any other learning methods. These illustrated books would convey the message of environmental preservation in such a way that it is comprehensible by the children. There are also other forms of Earth Day lessons that are made available in the web.

These lessons can be directly accessed and taught, or these can be downloaded and brought to the classrooms. Each lesson and activity is carefully planned and prepared such that it would appear attractive and interesting to the children. Truly, there are various ways in which environmental awareness can be brought about to individuals, even to little children.

Environmental Issues Japan

As more money becomes available for the development of energy saving products, there will also be an enormous demand for marketing specialists that can help customers learn about these items. Today, a wide range of internet marketing strategies can help you build a website that will make it easy for you to begin selling these products as they become available. In most cases, you may even find that focusing on a diverse range of environmental issues will make it easier for you to increase search engine rank, as well as a following of viewers that will easily convert to customers.

If you are aware of one environmental issue, you are also aware of dozens of others. As an example, if you are concerned about global warming, you may also have an interest in an endangered species that is subject malicious slaughter by rogue nations, or those under their protection. Irregardless of whether you want to promote solar cells, or hybrid cars, you need to ensure that the nation of origin has moral standards that are compatible with those of watchful environmentally conscious consumers. When visitors see you promoting products from nations that they associate with environmental mayhem, they will shun your site and look for business owners that truly share their ideals.

For the most part, you will find that internet marketing strategies related to green products will focus on creating peace of mind. You may find it necessary to carry disclaimers on your site about the origin of your products, as well as why you feel it is important to refrain from purchasing products from companies that you will not promote. Without a question, if you hit on a popular subject, some buyers will spend more money at your site, as opposed to buying from a competitor that is less aware of certain environmental issues.

Typically, you will find that basic internet marketing strategies can be adapted to suit almost any product. As an example, an email campaign can be as easily used to to promote solar cells from Japan as it can solar cells from Europe or the United States. Unfortunately, if your email reaches a potential consumer that is disgusted with the nation where your products originate, they will most likely shun your site. Therefore, when you seek to promote green products, it is very important to be aware of how your customers view what initially appear to be unrelated environmental and humanitarian issues. You may even find that clearly stating your feelings and actions related to these issues will help you create compelling, and powerful internet marketing strategies.
